INFIRE SMART 740 Wood-Burning Fireplace with Ventilation BODART & GONAY

The INFIRE SMART 740 with ventilation is a wood-burning insert designed for wall-mounted installation, combining the warmth of traditional fire with the most advanced technology. It belongs to the new generation of Bodart & Gonay equipment, a manufacturer with over 70 years of experience, and complies with demanding European regulations.

This model offers an 85% efficiency, one of the highest in the range, meaning it makes excellent use of almost all the heat from the wood burned. The main difference from the non-ventilated model is that this unit features two low-consumption fans that help distribute heat more quickly and evenly throughout the room.

You can choose between steel door or glass door, both at the same price:

• Steel door: More traditional, robust and classic appearance.
• Glass door: Maximum fire view, more contemporary and clean style.

Both options have the same performance and quality.

A fire window

The door frame is positioned behind the glass, with angled sides facing inward. This allows you to see much more fire and much less metal. The closing mechanism has two positions: you can leave the door slightly open during ignition so the glass doesn't fog up, without needing to leave it fully open.

The fire view is 414 mm high by 654 mm wide, offering an immersive visual experience.

Clean combustion and always-transparent glass

The unit features a dual smoke extraction system that directs hot air over the glass. This prevents soot from sticking, keeping the glass clean for longer. Additionally, the combustion chamber is deep, which concentrates embers in the center and prevents ash from escaping the firebox.

With an 85% efficiency, the SMART 740 makes excellent use of wood energy. This means:

• Less wood consumption to achieve the same temperature.
• Lower emissions of pollutants.
• Greater savings on heating.

Intelligent ventilation system

This model includes two DC fans that consume very little electricity (maximum 26 W) and are especially quiet. The system works completely automatically:

• Starts automatically when the fireplace body reaches 55°C (you don't need to do anything).
• Shuts off automatically when temperature drops below 55°C.
• Stops when you open the door so it doesn't draw in smoke, and resumes when you close it.
• Two speeds to choose from: setting 1 (slow and very quiet) or setting 2 (fast and powerful).

Thanks to aluminium heat exchangers, the air pushed by the fans heats up faster and more efficiently.

Why choose the ventilated version?

• Heat reaches farther throughout the same room.
• Temperature becomes more uniform (no cold and hot spots).
• You can connect hot air ducts (optional) to carry heat to adjacent rooms.
• Ideal for medium or large rooms or with high ceilings.

Unlike the 600 and 680 models, the SMART 740 has a 180 mm diameter smoke outlet (compared to the 150 mm of smaller models). This allows better evacuation of gases and more efficient draught, especially in larger fireplaces.

• Ash pan accessible from the front: Remove ashes quickly and easily.
• Removable filter: Protects fans and electronics from dust; easily removed and cleaned.
• Removable air distributors: Can be removed without tools for thorough cleaning.

Versatile installation

The combustion air inlet can be connected:

• Via the rear (outdoor air intake).
• Via the bottom (outdoor air intake).
• Via the front (room air intake).

The feet are adjustable to level the unit easily. The finishing frames are included in the price and you can choose between:

• Thin 4 mm frame: Minimalist finish, nearly invisible.
• 30 mm 3-side frame: Frames the fire on three of its sides.
• 30 mm 4-side frame: Frames the fire on all four sides.
