INFIRE SMART 680 Wood-Burning Fireplace with Ventilation BODART & GONAY

The INFIRE SMART 680 with ventilation is a wood-burning cassette designed for wall mounting, combining the warmth of traditional fire with the most advanced technology. It belongs to the new generation of Bodart & Gonay equipment, a manufacturer with over 70 years of experience, and complies with demanding European standards.

This model is slightly larger than the SMART 600, offering a wider flame view and slightly higher power, ideal for medium-sized rooms. The main difference with the non-ventilation model is that this unit incorporates two low-consumption fans that help distribute heat faster and more evenly throughout the room.

Choose your door style

You can choose between steel door or glass door, both at the same price:

• Steel door: More traditional, robust and classic look.
• Glass door: Maximum flame view, more contemporary and clean style.

Both options offer the same performance and quality.

A window to the fire

The door frame is positioned behind the glass, with the sides slanted inward. This lets you see much more fire and much less metal. The closing system has two positions: you can leave the door slightly open during lighting so the glass doesn't fog up, without needing to open it fully.

The flame view is 340 mm tall by 537 mm wide, significantly larger than the 600 model.

Clean combustion and always-transparent glass

The unit features a double smoke extraction system that directs hot air over the glass. This prevents soot from sticking and keeps the window clean longer. Additionally, the combustion chamber is deep, concentrating embers in the centre and preventing ash from escaping the hearth.

Smart ventilation system

This model includes two DC fans that consume very little electricity (maximum 26 W) and are especially quiet. The system works fully automatically:

• Starts automatically when the fireplace body reaches 55°C (you don't have to do anything).
• Stops automatically when the temperature drops below 55°C.
• Stops when you open the door so it doesn't draw in smoke, and resumes when you close it.
• Two speeds to choose: position 1 (slow and very quiet) or position 2 (fast and powerful).

Thanks to the aluminium heat exchangers, the air pushed by the fans heats faster and more efficiently.

Why choose the ventilation version?

• Heat reaches further within the same room.
• Temperature becomes uniform (no cold and hot spots).
• You can connect hot air ducts (optional) to carry heat to adjacent rooms.
• Ideal for medium or large rooms or those with high ceilings.

Maximum heat utilisation

To achieve high efficiency (over 80%), the interior features a heat-reflecting plate (vermiculite material) that makes hot gases travel a longer path inside the unit. This way, heat doesn't escape quickly through the chimney, but rather stays in the room, heating more efficiently with less wood.

Easy cleaning and maintenance

• Accessible ash pan from the front: Remove ash quickly and comfortably.
• Removable filter: Protects fans and electronics from dust; it's easily removed and cleaned.
• Removable air distributors: Remove without tools for deep cleaning.

Versatile installation

The combustion air inlet can be connected:

• From the rear (outdoor air intake).
• From the bottom (outdoor air intake).
• From the front (air from the room itself).

The feet are adjustable for easy levelling. The finish frames are included in the price and you can choose from:

• Thin 4 mm frame: Minimalist finish, almost invisible.
• 30 mm frame on 3 sides: Frames the fire on three of its sides.
• 30 mm frame on 4 sides: Frames the fire on all four sides.
