What we do

All the fire, under one roof

We manufacture, supply and install every kind of fire. Discover each type with the same video we use to show it to you in the shop.

Wood-burning fireplaces

The heat and the charm of the wood fire of a lifetime, with today's technology. We manufacture and distribute wood-burning fireboxes, inserts and metal fireplaces from leading brands, with top-quality refractories and cast iron.

Our inserts come with a graphic control panel, several heat extraction speeds and a remote control so that you can enjoy the fire without any fuss.

In the Campo de Gibraltar winter is short but damp, and few things fix that better than a wood fire. In our Algeciras showroom you can see fireboxes and inserts alight and compare the heat, the flame and the finish of each model in person before deciding.

Advantages of wood

  • The cheapest fuel: wood is still one of the most affordable ways to heat a home, especially in our area, where it is easy to come by.
  • Intense, enveloping heat: no other form of heating conveys the feeling of home that a good wood fire does.
  • It works even in a power cut: fire does not depend on the mains, so heat is guaranteed in any circumstance.
  • Great heat output: today's fireboxes and inserts heat large living rooms and, with Pierre Clima-type ducting, several rooms with the same wood.
  • Renewable fuel: local, locally sourced timber, with a far more balanced CO₂ cycle than fossil fuels.

What people usually ask us

Can I fit a wood-burning fireplace in my home? If you have a flue or the option of creating one, almost certainly yes. In detached houses there is rarely a problem; in flats it depends on the building and the residents' association. We visit your home and confirm it with no obligation.

Which wood is best? Dry wood, with roughly less than 20 % moisture, and preferably hardwoods such as holm oak or olive: more heat, less smoke and a cleaner glass.

How long does a load of wood last? It depends on the model and on how you set the air intake: modern closed fireboxes with double combustion keep the fire and the embers going for hours on a single load.

Pellet stoves and inserts

The most convenient and efficient option: you light it, programme it and forget about it. Pellet stoves and inserts offer great autonomy, automatic ignition and very tight consumption.

We have ducted models to distribute warm air to several rooms, with app control and thermostat.

If you are looking for day-to-day heating —programmed for the morning and the evening, with no need to watch the fire— pellets are probably your best option. We help you size the output according to the square metres and the insulation of your home, and in the showroom you can see several models running.

Advantages of pellets

  • Full programming: timers, thermostat and phone control on many models; the stove lights itself before you get home.
  • Great autonomy: the hopper feeds the fire automatically; depending on the model and use, one load can last one or several days.
  • High efficiency: today's appliances make use of practically all the fuel, with efficiency far above that of an open fireplace.
  • Clean fuel that is easy to store: standard bags that take up little space and do not make a mess.
  • Ducted models: a single stove can send warm air to several rooms.

What people usually ask us

How many pellets does a stove use? As a rough guide, between 1 and 2.5 kg per hour depending on the output and the working level. With the programming well set, daily consumption is very contained.

Does it use a lot of electricity? Very little: it only needs it for the ignition element, the hopper motor and the fans. The heat comes from the pellets.

What maintenance does it need? Emptying the ash pan and cleaning the burner regularly —a matter of minutes— and a thorough service once a year, which our own technical team can carry out.

Torn between pellets and wood? It is the most common question, and the answer depends on your routine: convenience and programming versus ritual and cheaper fuel. Come and see us with the details of your home and we will settle it in one visit.

Gas fireplaces

All the beauty of fire with the comfort of gas: instant ignition, no smoke or ash and precise flame control with a remote.

Insert models, stoves and outdoor solutions from the best brands.

It is the favourite technology for anyone who wants real fire every day with no chores: no carrying wood, no cleaning ash, no waiting for it to catch. It is also the star of terraces and porches, with outdoor stoves and fire pits that make evenings outside last longer.

Advantages of gas

  • Fire in an instant: press the remote and you have a real flame in seconds, with no wood to light and no embers to wait for.
  • Zero cleaning: no ash, no soot and no fuel to store at home.
  • Adjustable, very realistic flame: ceramic logs and burners designed to make it hard to tell apart from wood.
  • Precise temperature control: thermostat and programming to keep the room exactly as you like it.
  • Flexible installation: balanced-flue sealed appliances allow positions where a wood-burning fireplace would be unfeasible.

What people usually ask us

Does it run on natural gas or bottled gas? There are models for both. If your home has natural gas that is the most convenient; if not, propane is a perfectly valid alternative.

Does it need a flue? Most use a sealed concentric duct that takes in air and expels the gases through the same terminal, far more flexible than the draught of a wood-burning fireplace.

Is it safe? Yes: they include safety systems that cut off the gas if the flame goes out, and the installation is always carried out by authorised staff.

If you already know the recess or the room, bring us a few photos and measurements: we will tell you which models fit, what flue they need and what the whole thing costs, installation included.

Electric fireplaces

The simplest solution: they are installed with no building work and no flue, and they offer a surprisingly realistic flame effect, with adjustable heating.

Inserts, stoves, suspended models and water-vapour models for any space.

They are the gateway into the world of fire: if you live in a flat with no flue, if you are renting or if you simply want the atmosphere of a fireplace without touching the house, an electric one gives it to you from day one, with nothing more than a socket.

Advantages of electric fireplaces

  • No building work and no smoke: plug them in and that is it; perfect for flats, quick refurbishments and rented homes.
  • Spectacular flame effect: LED technology and water-vapour models produce a fire that fools the eye.
  • Atmosphere all year round: you can use the flame effect without the heating, in summer too.
  • Contained investment: the appliance and the set-up cost considerably less than any other fire technology.
  • Formats for everything: panoramic inserts, classic-style stoves, wall-mounted and suspended models.

What people usually ask us

Does it use a lot of electricity? The flame effect uses very little, like a light bulb. The heating, when you switch it on, uses as much as a normal domestic heater: it is meant as a back-up, not as the main heating for the whole house.

Does it look like real fire? Water-vapour models generate a three-dimensional flame with cold smoke that surprises people even close up. Come and see them alight in our showroom.

Can they be built in? Yes, there are electric inserts designed to sit inside a unit or a wall with no ducting at all: all they need is a socket.

And if you move or refurbish later on, the fireplace goes with you: no building work to undo and no ducts to cover up. Few decorating decisions are so reversible and so striking.

Bioethanol

Bioethanol

Real fire with no need for installation or a flue. Bioethanol is clean and decorative: perfect for adding a touch of warmth and design to any room.

Burners, tabletop models, hanging models and inserts.

Bioethanol has become the favourite resource of decorators and interior designers: it lets you bring real fire into spaces where a conventional fireplace is impossible, from the centre of a table to a bespoke unit in the living room. In our showroom we light the burners for you so that you can see the real flame.

Advantages of bioethanol

  • A real flame, zero installation: no building work, no ducting, no flue; you place it and light it.
  • Portable: many models can move to another room —or out to the terrace— whenever you like.
  • Clean combustion: bioethanol produces no smoke and no ash, just a live, silent flame, with no noticeable smell when the burner is a quality one.
  • Pure design: linear burners, tabletop fireplaces, hanging models and inserts to build into furniture and walls.
  • Ideal where no other fireplace fits: flats, offices, business premises and second homes.

What people usually ask us

Does a bioethanol fireplace give off heat? It provides pleasant back-up warmth in the room where it stands, but its strong point is the atmosphere: it is a decorative feature with real fire, not a main heating system.

Is it safe to use indoors? Yes, always with certified quality burners and normal ventilation of the room. We explain how to use it correctly when you buy it.

How long does the fuel last? As a rough guide, one litre of bioethanol gives between 2 and 4 hours of flame depending on the size of the burner and the setting.

If you have a decorating or refurbishment project under way, tell us about it: we build bioethanol burners into furniture, walls and new-build work, together with your decorator or your joiner.

Barbecues and ovens

Barbecues and ovens

Take the fire out to your terrace or garden as well. Charcoal, gas, wood and electric barbecues from leading brands, griddles and wood-fired ovens to cook like a professional.

Around here the barbecue season lasts almost all year, and it shows in what our customers ask for: ways to cook outdoors comfortably that stand up to heavy use and the coastal climate. That is why we select sturdy equipment, built to last many summers.

Advantages of our barbecues and ovens

  • Every fuel: charcoal for the flavour of always, gas for convenience, wood for purists and electric models for balconies and enclosed spaces.
  • Benchmark brands: we work with the sector's leading manufacturers, with spare parts and accessories available.
  • Built-in or portable: from the fixed barbecue with worktop and hood to mobile models you can store in any corner.
  • Wood-fired ovens: bread, roasts and pizzas with that edge only wood gives, in formats for the garden and for the catering trade.
  • Real advice: we help you choose size, fuel and position according to how you cook and how much space you have.

What people usually ask us

Charcoal or gas? Charcoal gives the classic smoky flavour; gas wins on speed, cleanliness and temperature control. If you barbecue often and without ceremony, gas will change your life; if you are one for the ritual of fire, go for charcoal or wood.

Is a built-in barbecue worth it? If you have the space, yes: it is more comfortable, more stable in the wind and it adds value to the outdoor area. We install it complete, with hood and flue.

Does a wood-fired oven need much maintenance? Very little: an initial curing with gentle fires and basic cleaning after each use. Well looked after and protected from the rain, a good wood-fired oven lasts decades.

Designer fireplaces

Designer fireplaces

For anyone looking for something unique: sculptural fireplaces that are genuine pieces of decoration. We work with the leading names in fire design, with suspended, central and panoramic formats.

A sculptural fireplace is not chosen from a catalogue just like that: it has to be seen in its space, with its ceiling height, its flue and its surroundings. We study your living room —plans or a visit— and propose the model, the finish and the position that work best, just as an interior design studio would.

Advantages of a designer fireplace

  • The centre of the home: a suspended or central fireplace turns the fire into the absolute star of the living room.
  • Prestige names: we distribute brands such as JC Bordelet, Traforart and Rocal, icons of European fire design.
  • A 360º view of the fire: central and rotating models let you enjoy the flame from anywhere in the room.
  • Customisation: finishes, colours and flue heights adapted to your interior design project.
  • Beauty that also heats: behind the looks there are wood or gas fireboxes with real efficiency, approved and designed for daily use.

What people usually ask us

Does a hanging fireplace heat or is it only decorative? It really heats: they are closed or open wood or gas fireboxes, with the advantage of radiating heat in every direction.

Will the ceiling take the weight? The unit is anchored to the slab after a prior study of the structure. Our technicians assess it during the visit before confirming the project.

Can I have it in a gas version? Many sculptural models come in both wood and gas versions; we advise you on which one suits your home and your use best.

If you have a photo of your living room or the plan of your project, bring it along: in one visit we will tell you which models fit and what the installation needs.

Installation and technical service

Our technicians install your fireplace with the peace of mind and the guarantee of professional work. And we do not leave you on your own afterwards: we have an active technical service for first lightings, maintenance, inspections and any query.

A fireplace is only as good as its installation: a badly calculated draught or a poorly finished flue will ruin the very best appliance. That is why at Pierre Chimen installation is not subcontracted: it is done by the same in-house technicians who have spent years manufacturing and fitting fireplaces from Algeciras.

Advantages of installing with Pierre Chimen

  • Our own technicians, not subcontractors: the same team that manufactures and sells is the one that installs in your home.
  • Installation compliant with regulations: draughts, safety distances and finishes carried out as they should be, so that the fireplace performs and is safe.
  • Commissioning included: we do the first lighting with you and show you how to get the most out of your appliance.
  • Maintenance and spare parts: regular inspections, chimney sweeping and original parts throughout the life of the product.
  • Direct manufacturer's guarantee: 40 years of the trade and a brand that answers with no middlemen.

What people usually ask us

How long does it take to install a fireplace? It depends on the work required: a stove with a direct outlet can be sorted in one day, and a firebox with cladding and ducting in a few days. We give you a firm timescale in the quote.

How often should it be inspected or swept? With regular use, at least once a year, preferably before the cold season. Our technical service takes care of everything.

What does the installation quote include? Everything needed: flue pipe, insulation, finishes, labour and commissioning, with no surprises or extra costs halfway through the job: what we sign is what you pay.

Frequently asked questions

What types of fireplaces and stoves can I find at Pierre Chimen?

We work with every fuel: wood, pellet, gas, electric and bioethanol, as well as barbecues, wood-fired ovens and designer fireplaces. We are manufacturers and distributors of the best brands.

Do you install the fireplace?

Yes. We have our own technicians who carry out the installation with a professional guarantee, plus an active technical service for first lightings, maintenance and inspections.

Can I see the fireplaces alight before buying?

Of course. We have a 1,000 m² showroom in Algeciras where you can see many models alight and compare in person the type of fire, the heat and the design of each one.

Do you offer finance?

Yes, we offer finance from 3 to 36 months interest free so that you can buy your fireplace in convenient instalments.

What is the best price commitment?

If you find the same product cheaper somewhere else, tell us and we will try to improve on it. We want to offer you the best service and the best price too.

Which brands do you work with?

We distribute the sector's leading names —Edilkamin, Bronpi, Jotul, Lacunza, Hergom, Invicta, Ravelli, Rocal, Weber, Napoleon, Dimplex and many more— alongside our own Pierre Chimen manufacturing.

How much does it cost to install a fireplace or stove?

It depends on the type of appliance, the route of the flue and the building work needed, so there is no single honest figure. What we always do is study your case and give you a fixed quote with no obligation before starting. Call us on 956 657 425 or come and see us and we will work it out with you.

Can I put a pellet or wood stove in a flat?

In many cases yes, but the flue has to be resolved properly and, as a general rule, it must rise to the roof of the building. If the duct runs along the façade or through communal areas you will need the residents' association's authorisation. If it is not feasible, there are alternatives with no flue such as electric fireplaces or bioethanol. We study your case before you buy anything.

What maintenance does a fireplace or stove need?

Wood-burning appliances need the ash removing regularly and the flue sweeping at least once a year to clear soot and creosote. Pellet appliances need frequent cleaning of the burner and ash pan and an annual technical inspection. We have our own technical service for the maintenance and inspection of all our equipment.

Do you ship outside Algeciras?

Yes. We ship throughout Spain and also to Europe, with a cost depending on the destination area. Within Spain, shipping is free on orders over €600. And if you prefer, collection at our shop in Algeciras (Ctra. Málaga, 18) is always free.

Do you issue a certificate or guarantee for the installation?

Our installations are carried out by our own qualified technicians and are guaranteed by Pierre Chimen: we manufacture, we install and we answer directly. If you need specific installation documentation for your insurer or your residents' association, tell us and we will explain how we handle it in your case.

What output do I need to heat my home?

As a rough guide, around 1 kW per 10 m² is estimated in homes with normal ceilings and insulation, although insulation, ceiling height and orientation can change the calculation a great deal. Tell us what your home is like and we will recommend exactly the right output: not one kilowatt more.

How long does the installation take?

Most installations are completed in one working day. If building work is needed (creating a recess, fitting a long duct up to the roof or finishing off with decorative work), it may take a little longer. We set it out precisely in the quote, along with the date, before starting.

Do you make bespoke fireplaces?

Yes. We are manufacturers: we build more than 150 of our own models and we can design and manufacture your fireplace to measure, adapted to the space and the style of your home. We also study the ideal position, weighing up both looks and performance.

Where are you and what are your opening hours?

We are at Ctra. Málaga, 18, in Algeciras (Cádiz), with a 1,000 m² showroom. We open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 20:30, and on Saturdays from 10:00 to 14:00. You can also call us on 956 657 425 or write to pierrechimen@pierrechimen.com.

Shall we talk about your fireplace?

Visit us in Algeciras or drop us a line: we advise you with no obligation and help you choose the best option for your home.
